As a mother to two boys, aged five and seven, I can tell you this is something I think about every time I hit the local shops alone with my boys. I can also tell you that six years old is definitely not the answer to the above question. At seven years old my son is still a child.

Why does my son take so long in the bathroom?

Wether it’s a trip to the toilet or the shower, our first line of defense is the kitchen timer. Often times he gets side tracked before sitting on the pot and starts playing with soap, drawing on the counter, etc. when the timer goes off it reminds him why he went in there. Just wanted to tell you that you are not alone.
